Obey Thoven: Classical radio station spoofs Shepard Fairey

These terrific posters for classical music station WQXR have started appearing around New York City:

Of course it’s a play on words (O Beethoven) and a parody of Shepard Fairey‘s famous “Obey” street art.

Fairey did not design this campaign, but he tells Stuart Elliott in The New York Times: “Of course I support classical music, and this homage to my work made me smile.”

Hip stuff for a public radio station. I like it.
